help xr400 jets

a friend of mine has a xr 400 2001 model he had bought jets which he wasnt sure of buying and now in a bit of a muddle with wat to do
he bought 2 main jets which are 165 and 158 wat he needs to know regardless of what he has bought is which size jets are best for overall ouput and which needle clip position it should sit on and also the small jet size to go with main jets
