Hi all,

I have recently purchased a 1989 YZ250 that needs several repairs (bearings, fork rebuild, etc.). Most of the repair information I have found in my factory maintenance manual, except one.

I need to replace the rear shock bottoming out rubber bumper. Can I do this without disassembling the entire shock assembly and releasing all gas or can I merely remove the bottom eyelet portion of the shock from the rod to replace? I have already removed the coil spring with a compression tool.

Any advice, explanations or help would be greatly appreciated.
