I am a rookie rider and I am about to purchase a XT125X for $2500 brand new (100mls) to ride back and forth to work, the occasional leisure ride and to get my feet wet with supermoto so I wanted to find out some opinions on it. First, I have read through allot of threads and it seems like the 4 stroke will last longer for my application. It has less hp than the 2 stroke but can it be modded to gain top speed and torque? I have looked all over the place (fmf,Dep,Leo V) for an after market exhaust but no one carries it. Is it too new? The last ? I have could be silly but I just dont know so I will ask, besides the speedometer, are euro spec bikes the same as american spec bikes? I would appreciate any Helpful opinions anyone has, Thanks

If you mod it it will still be slower than the 2 stroke and last a lot shorter.

A well looked after 2 stroke will be just as reliable, though it will need more attention paid to warming up.

I suspect bikes are cheaper where you are than here, but I still wouldn't buy a 125 new, for the deprecation and the running in.

wouldnt bother either. That money for a bike to use offroad then its ok, but for just road use id much rather have a bigger bike. 125's just dont have enough power/speed for road use and that sort of money could buy something far more suited. You can pickup VFR400's for £1500.

Anyhow the XT125's are rubbish Razz
