|
|
What sort of performance hit can I expect carrying a reasonably sized Pillion passenger on a 50cc 2-stroke moped?
As in, will it be dangerously slow?
I've carried people pillion before on my mate's 'ped but only a small person |

I'll wager that it wasn't on a restricted 50 though Morgan
I would derestrict it but then I wouldn't be able to carry a pillion as it wouldn't be a moped any more. |

restricted in the exhaust, variator, and airbox.
So it should in theory hold 30mph.

He lived in pakistan but was an indian?
Also - you mentioned that you can take a pillion on the moped. But, if it was de-restricted then it would be classed as a motorcycle and you can't take a pillion.
What difference does it make if you have passed your test? ____________________ It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's bloody hilarious!!! |

When I was younger and even more irresponsible than I am now, I was one of a group who managed 5 up on a Sym Jet 50 moped. The thing still did 35!
One pillion shouldn't be a problem for speed, just acceleration. ____________________ I must not be a troll...
