are there such things as motocross days for beginners (like track days for beginners). if so, where can I find a centre? If there are such things, I'd be looking for a centre in the midlands (preferably the east midlands)

https://www.yamaha-offroad-experience.co.uk/

https://www.hondaoffroad.co.uk/

To name a few near (ish to you)

The first one taught me to ride then I went on the last one. was gonna do the middle 2 but got my licence in summer and did:

on the weekend.

MX tryout goes to Ipswich & Doncaster. Yamaha Offroad Schools is down south but they do a private forest track similar to Trail Riding in Bolton.

I want to try the CAS Honda one. Maybe next year.

As above.

If you wanna try general off roading I'd highly recommend blagging use of a mates bike if you can find some one with a dirt bike and riding it around some waste ground or similar.

For the price of two 'trial' days you could probably buy yourself an ok bike!

Still, never heard people who've done them complain.

nec bike show is a good place to try offroading

you dont pay extra, so its just the cost of the bike show which i think is about £20

you dont get long, but it is surprisingly tiring first time, so i think 30mins is enough

I think you can have a few goes, if you book in the hall a few times

i tried a 450 4stropke, and a 125 2stroke motox bike

the 2 stroke was a lot more fun

i ended up getting a 250 4 stroke as its a nice compromise

lighter is definietly better offroad, as u dont really get to use all the power
