From my local MOT tester
A daytime MOT is the same as a normal MOT except your bike does not have to have lights. If your bike has lights they HAVE to work, and it can NOT be put through a daytime MOT. However, if your lights don't work (the mag had stopped working on my CR500, turned out to be a broken wire ) Then as long as you cover them up with masking tape or something i can pass it, basically, if i can't see the lens they're not there.
He's a friendly MOT tester and i always take my bikes to him, he knew i had a road legal pipe for the bike so didn't bother that i didn't put it on for the test, he knew i would have just taken it off anyway so said it was pointless, and my horn fell off on the way to MOT, just before i left the shop he said, watch that horn think it might fall off.... TOP BLOKE
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GATHER ALL THE INFORMATION UP HERE THATS KNOWN TO BE TRUE AND MAKE IT A STICKY???
I'm road registering an '85 CR500 and i'll post how i get on. |
