Mate you know my mechanical expertise i.e none.

Does look very nice Very Happy

What is the maintenance schedule on those like? A lot of the competition 4 strokes can be very highly strung and need quite a lot of attention.

yeah i know, but if its bearable something like checking valves after every 8 hours and new oil and filters after each run then i'd be really tempted.

the plus points

for me is its location (its only 25 miles away, instead of the more usually 100-150 for enduro bikes)

got a local workshop that specialises in MX bikes so getting major work done wouldn't be problem,

its a MX thats road registared Thumbs Up Very Happy

someones spent a bucket load of cash gettin this thing built and registared and it comes with quite afew spares

the downside is

its like a handgranade just waiting to detonate not sure when it'll go, but go it will Wink

Looks a good buy, if there aren't any major issues with it.

8 hours could easily be a day's riding - might be annoying if you're out for a couple of days and have to do maintenance inbetween.

However, generally the service intervals will be considered to be a bit longer for trail rather than mx use I believe, as you're not putting so much through it.

Major rebuilds are more frequent and quite a lot more expensive than a 2stroke generally, I believe.

HPI check came back clear so thats Thumbs Up

guy reckons oil out every 8hrs for MX or 12hrs for trails/ green laning

new oil filter every other change so 24 hrs and to just keep an eye on the air filter to make sure its not too dirty.

gonna have look on the 28th so fingers crossed this baby could have a new home Very Happy

as G said gonna pin him down valve clearences and intervals for top end servicing , but its just come back from the workshop so has a clean bill of health for the time being.

cheers guys Thumbs Up
