Let me set the scene; I do a bit of car valeting for friends and family it's not a source of income, I just enjoy it (sadly!), this quick post doesn't has as much depth as a craigs23 'un but I like to think that I more than hold my own against him in the analness stakes when it comes to bike cleanliness Wink

This is the first time the TT's been out from under the covers this year but before all the naysayers come a knockin' I'll explain that I've got an 11 week baby to contend with and I've done a throughout the year with Bike transport stint and I didn't enjoy it at all - My Bike is for fun, Simple Thumbs Up

This is what greeted me everytime I visited the beer fridge throughout the winter...

I won't lie and say that she really needed a good ol' clean, she didn't, however, like a bird wearing 6 inch heels and a similary length miniskirt I enjoy the admiring glances that a gleaming machine attracts (although I could do without hairy arsed blokes yelling 'Nice Flange' at me Shocked Wink ).

For this wash I decided to use some of my car washing kit - namely a KARCHER jet wash and some Elite Super Snow Foam which is basically a thick foam that quite literally attaches itself to the dirt and grime, breaks it down and soaks it off.

Ingredients...

https://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/steveqpr/P1000166.jpg
An Inch of Autoglm, An Inch Of Super Snow Foam, topped up with Hot water

Application is with a special attatchment via the jet wash. I'd better add that it's more 'wash' than 'jet' and the covering isn't aggresive in its' application at all so wheelbearings, electrics, etc remain safe.

https://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/steveqpr/P1000167.jpg
Leave to soak for 4 minutes following application (Visible on the floor is the soap residue that's come off the bike)

Once rinsed I use a special weave drying towel that's not as abrasive as a chamois so cuts down on any small scratches appearing on the paintwork. Wheels are treated with a wheel treatment that brings them up a treat and has the additional benefit of protecting them from road grime, dirt, etc...

Thumbs Up

Admitting your 'problem' on BCF is nearly as good as therapy - and cheaper too. Now I know why Craig does it Wink

I've searched my photobucket account for a better shot of the Snow Foam in action as it really is top stuff - came up with this of a Mates Land Rover that I did a few months ago...

Before...

Jesus, I've gone too far haven't I? Confused

It is clear you have a problem, now you have admitted you can begin the healing process.

If you need to keep a small fix though i have a zx12 that could do with some of that attention Wink

Gave my MP3 a good clean today and after seeing Steve H is just as sad as me when it comes to this kind of thing I thought I would post it up in here! Mr. Green

And before anyone says anything, yes, I am a bit ocd when it comes to cleaning bikes...

Bike snowfoamed, then washed and dried. Exhaust cleaned with Tarminator then Autosol. Arches/underside cleaned with Megs APC then wheels cleaned with CG wheel cleaner, dried then 2 coats of CG wheel guard applied. Paintwork then clayed with CYC clay bar and CG speed wipe. Bike then washed and dried again. Black plastics done with CG trim gel. Paintwork polished with megs scratch X then megs polish, then 2 coats of CG wax applied.

Could really do with getting some better polish at some point as I'm not that keen on the megs stuff.

Tools/Chemicals used.
Chemical Guys Wheel Cleaner
Chemical Guys Wheel Guard
Stoner Tarminator
Autosol
CYC Snow Foam
Meguiars APC
Sonus Sheepskin Wash Mit
Sonus Drying Towels
Meguairs bucket with grit guard
Chemical Guys Bodywash and Wax
CYC Claybar
Chemical Guys Speed Wipe
Meguiars Scratch X
Meguiars Polish
Chemical Guys Pete's 53 Wax
Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel

Some befores, which don't look to bad although there is 600 miles of dirt and dead flies on there.

What attachment did you use for your jet wash?
I also have some sort of Karcher jet wash (not used it in over a year) with 2 attrachments, one jet, one is more of a cone.

Also, dont the jet washes need to be attached to a hose pipe Or did you do it straight from the bottle you mixed them in?

I use a couple of different polishes/wax (not at the same I hasten to add!) - both are easy to apply (by hand), relatively cheap and give different but fantastic finishes...

Poorboys Nattys Paste Wax (Blue)
https://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/steveqpr/natty-blue.jpg

Chemical Guys Hard Core Paste Wax
https://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/steveqpr/xxx_a.jpg

As for the Karcher Jet Wash Reppyboyo you do need to buy a different lance attatchment (they're approximately 30-40 quid), I haven't got a picture of mine however this is similar apart from the fact that I use a larger bottle...

https://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/steveqpr/foam_gun-1.jpg

The copper adaptor simply slots where your other attatchment would go and the ingredients are added into the bottle. This mixture combines with the water coming normally through your Karcher (by way of a hosepipe attatched to the actual machine) giving the foam result Thumbs Up

Cheers.
Had a look around for attachments and they are all quite expensive (around £40-£50).
Also had a look at cheaper ones (that only connect directly to the hose pipe) which seemed to produce similar reasults, alot less foam tho.

Will keep looking Thumbs Up

Tried it yesterday with Karchers foam lance (the plastic one).
Does a fairly good job, cant complain for £15.
Used Turtle wax, wash & wax, foamed ok. Elite snow foam on order.

After looking at the CYC and Detailing world forums tho its got me hankering to give the bike a better clean.

What are the differences between those two wax`s btw?
I`ve never waxed my bike apart from whats in the turtle wax.
Unless Autoglym Super Resin Polish & Extra Gloss protection count as waxing.
