Let them do what they want, it's not everyday you get the chance to be sucked into a blackhole.

It's just another big conspiracy by the EU, it's a giant mind control machine, don't forget to wear your colander.

Do some reading on it, in current terms it is the most plausible explanation.

Current theories is that "space" is still expanding, however it is slowing down and some people are being led to believe that it will stop and then accelerate together once again, hence when it all collides will create another big bang, much like an elastic band.

Certainly seems plausible. One thing that interested me is that cause the universe is expanding at such a rate, if humans could live long enough the amount of stars in the sky will get less and less.

As for the LHC, what is the point of worrying about it? Russia could drop a nuke on us tomorrow. Live for today, not tomorrow. I thought bikers at least could understand that.

Not saying the world will end , the thing is though a black hole say 100 light years away has limited effect on me, a black hole being formed under geneva which is 650 miles away is somewhat more dangerous.

The problem with living for today is what if you live to an old age? , in that you may well live out your old age in dire poverty, I've seen this myself first hand in China and to a lesser extent HK where you see 95 year old women collecting cans and recycling to make some extra money.

Don't talk about HK like that Razz

And btw all this seems a bit unlikely to end the world.

Dammit, I had an excuse to go on a motorbike GTA spree Laughing

Quite. Hellkat's not quite 95 and doesn't need to supplement her income by collecting cans.

How can nothingness bring everything back together? What's going to stop the planets and stars from continuing to expand?

Centrifugal force doesn't exist, it's just a lack of centripetal force Wink

It would be a matter of some disappointment if when turned on it produced Americanos, Mocha Frapacinnos & Decaf Lattes and fuck all else.

Perhaps it'll tear a portal into another reality a la Stephen King's The Mist...

If something like your crabhead man appeared I can say with out any shadow of a doubt, you wouldn't see me for dust I kicked up in my running screaming wake. Shocked

Thumbs Up

I also don't think God made the universe. It's just something that is unexplainable.

Just had a thought...

What if... The big bang... Was caused by a previous civilisation building a Large Haydron Collider then turning it on... Shocked

It would be ironic would it not, like having 10000 spoons when all you need is a knife?

Cool

Call me a sceptic but I seriously doubt anything made by man with current technologies could serously create something as destructive as a black hole...
Especially as the maths behind black holes are really pretty inpenetrable, no one quite knows exactly what happens with them. And as has been mentioned before, I always thought that black holes were more of a possibility when stars collapsed, not when subatomic matter collided... Confused

Still, wouldn't half be cool to see what happens Wink

What are the odds on a link to some form of parallel universe? Same as a lottery ticket? My bet's on meeting some Ewoks pretty soon Laughing

On a side note, I have forever been trying to work out if Alantis Morisette is clever enough to name that song Ironic because nothing in it actually is, or she she just a daft bint that doesn't understand the word?

Now THAT is a mystery of the universe.
