raleigh rm1 1959 i got it cheap thought it would be somthing to fix up on them rainy days well its almost done now here it is

ya never know might be worth somthing oneday...lol...probally not though

need a few more bits then strip it down repaint it in proper colouer (battleship grey..lol) then cover it in grease put it in the back of the garage n forget about it for a few years

What a lovely piece of kit, i`m one of the older members and can see that you really need to do just what you said earlier, get it sorted and put it away for a while, do use it though as it does need using.-Jockey. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Very Happy

32mph when it was new..lol be scarey at them speeds tho ive riden it round the block just pedeling it n its very unstable..lol

ive been dared to ride it to local bike meet (hartford marina) in full leathers knee sliders tinted visor the works

well im not one to back out of a dare..lol
oh im 34 by the way i guess that makes me 1 of the older members too

Looks more high-tech than my RM6, that had a bicycle front brake, you've got a drum Laughing

Mine did about 30mph and to be honest it was fine apart from vibrations. Just make sure you don't have your right pedal low when going around roundabouts Embarassed

Also loctite all the bolts as I lost a few including 1 of 2 that hold the fuel tank on, it nearly fell onto my back wheel. Only took me half a day to do as there aren't many bolts to start with.

Finding parts is hard and also finding tyres.

Not sure what tyres are on yours but I eventually sourced a rear tyre from these people.

tyres are just standard pushbike 26x2 although i found an autocycle dealer that sells the proper dunlops for the bike cant get qualifier rr for it though..lol

I've had that problem afor when taking my Norton in, then they failed it at first cause they didn't manage to find the high/low beam switch Rolling Eyes,

though did consider handing them one of the HT leads instead....

i had a Phillips Gadabout which was pretty similar to the thing you're showing at just about the time you was born (has ya nappy been changed yet? Razz )
