Just because it makes the front end stand up when braking, doesn't mean it is moving the weight off the front tyre!
It's like when you open the throttle on a big bike, the weight moves to the back, but the rear suspension makes the tail of the bike lift up. (As the wheel turns, the swingarm wants to move against the wheel, making it push the bike upwards. This is why bikes can wheelie). ____________________

Agreed!
There's alot of things to it really, axle location, the fact that the front of the bike is heavier on one side than the other, and all the weight low down and far back from the axle centre, seems to cause the pendulum effect at the handlebars. The front damper is not up to much, and also mine seemed to wear the steering head bearings quite quickly, which id put down to the weight of the components making up the front suspension. A single sided front end can work, but the the Speedfight is not a proper single side front end design. A Yamaha GTS1000 is an example of how it should be done.
Nice work you have done on your scooter anyway! |

Although forks are actually a rather ineffecient form of suspension, nothing can match th level of feedback and feeling that they give. Your suspension can be fantastic, but if there's no way of feeling what it's doing, it's useless.
So yeah, forks ftw. ____________________
