So as some of you know Im going to be cutting the leo vince and rewelding it the same shape of my old standard exhaust.
Reason for changing, is because the old one just looks ugly in the day time and is rusty.
Bought the leo vince for 50 used for only 2 weeks.
bargain?
Anyways heres some pictures for you guys to see the differences between the standard exhaust and the leo vince.

what do you think?

If you start cutting and welding the Leo Vince then you will FCUK the exhaust up. The expansion chamber on the exhaust is designed to be a specific shape and length to maximise performance of the engine.

Why do you need to cut and weld it?

should be that much of a problem as im not cutting all of it but just the head bit as its facing vertically and I need it horizontally if that makes sense.

It still wont fit if you switch the end, because it wont match up with the bracket on the engine will it...?

So much effort, just sell it and get a new one Confused

So just wait, if your bike isn't going to run properly if you do bodge it then you've achieved nothing. Wait a few months until you can afford it, and make a good job of it. Thumbs Up

I do need an exhaust as the old one is just ugly overall.

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250801800597&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

I'll see how much i get for it.. if not worth it then I might as well reweld it and try to fit it in?

As I said too you in your last thread about this, IT IS A VERY BAD IDEA.

Two stroke exhaust dynamics are very specific, that expansion chamber isnt empty, there are baffles in there designed to control the harmonics of the engine emissions and use then to increase the performance. If you mess around with that, its going to screw that up.

On the one hand, it might be fine and it might work all right for you, On the other hand, it might go horribly wrong and damage your engine. Is that really worth £50?

You would be SO much better selling it and buying the correct exhaust for your bike, I even offered to link you too some.

Also, I don't know what you intend to weld this with, but exhaust welding is an art that many people don't have. Exhausts are TIG welded out of the factory and I doubt you have a TIG welder (Could be wrong), which means you'll probably either be braising it or Using a MIG, neither will give you a good seal that will last, it will start blowing sooner or later and keeping the line going around an obstructive bend like that is quite difficult and is something I struggle to do even after welding up an entire car chassis.

Seriously, Unless you really understand what your doing with two stroke engines, don't mess around with them. There more complex then you realise.[/u]

no there arnt.

Usually you would be right, However in Leo Vince exhausts and other cheap expansion pipes, there are internal Baffles that change the harmonics so they can produce the same expansion chamber for different bikes.

Photos to prove (From a Technigas Pipe, Not my photos, but lost the original thread):

You spent £50 on a secondhand exhaust that doesn't even fit your bike and a quick look on ebay reveals exhausts that actually fit your bike with no mods for £60 and sports pipes from £67.

Fair play......the guy likes a challenge.

Unbranded exhausts are worse then the technigas in the state pictured above (Cut in half!)

Here's one that will fit, thats also cheap and brand new so you can return it incase it happens to be wrong:

https://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/p/Leo_Vince_TT_exhaust_system_for_Gilera_Runner_NRG_etc-129.aspx

Or if you have some extra money lying around, Giannelli exhausts arent too bad and this one is chromed so shouldnt rust as fast:

https://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/p/Giannelli_Extra_chrome_exhaust_for_Gilera_Runner_NRG_etc-1397.aspx
