well some of you may remember my old cb650 rat, and her getting wrote off when some div SMIDSY'd me https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=229843&highlight=
Well heres some pictures of the old girls replacement, its a '95 gsx600f rat.
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/GSX%20rat/DSCI0064.jpg?t=1322663258
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/GSX%20rat/DSCI0063.jpg?t=1322663013
Future plans include a bandit 12/gsxr750 rear shock to lift the back end a bit and give more adjustment, and eventually a bandit 12 engine, however ive recently lost my job so thats on the back burner for the foreseeable future unfortunately.
Cheers

I saw this bike in town today for the first time, and i just knew it was Johns. A quick text message confirmed it.
Its epic mega mate, even if it is a ball crusher. |

Front mudguard isnt an MOT requirement unless removing it reduces the structural integrity of the front end, the fork brace was on for MOT and as such it passed. I did however get a standard mudguard back on it this afternoon to stop the coils getting wet and cutting to 3 cyl in the rain, and preventing a stream of rainwater being thrown into my face from the front wheel.
The spike on the back would have been an mot fail and to be honest i didnt like the look if it so i went with the ammo tin tailpiece and use the numberplate as a rear mudguard.
Nick, the seat is definatley going to be reworked, theres no way on earth id be able to ride it to the dutch ratbike rally in amsterdam like that.
Cheers

nice job on the seat mate much better than that spike
not a fan of the headlight but....
love the fork gators XD gonna stick a set on mine when i fit new fork seals soon i just dont think a rat looks right without them
£250 is WIN i paid £600 for my bike with a year T&T
and you seem to have the same plans for mods as me B12 yzf750 or R6 shock + bigger engine i was thinking GSXR1100 lump when i have a year or two road experiance a few in the states have fitted them fine XD
for more ideas katriders has a streetfighters section with some amazeing work

yeah katriders compatibility threads has certainly planted the seed of more horsepower and better handling.
The headlight has been lowered a little bit now to stop it being so high up, also welded in a nut and bolt for headlight adjustment finally. however when i lowered it the mounts meant the already stretched choke cable from the renthals became useless leaving my choke half on at all times. I disconnected the choke cable and attached a hand grenade pin to the left hand side of the carbs to work the choke, job done.
Also, my friend gave me a roll of vinyl hazard tape so now the frame and top edge of the belly pan is yellow/black striped
Hopefully will be fitting the kerker race pipe tomorrow if it doesn't take too much bodgineering.
Cheers

In other news, the kerker race can is on and a very nice noise it makes too (as well as setting off car alarms at half throttle )
My fried may have found me a rear shock so i'm going over to have a look today, first im going to have a play with some fibreglass and various shite i have lying around the shed to see if I can make a early katana style front fairing for it.
Cheers
