A few weeks ago poor old Gti crashed his bike and was told by a bike shop it was written off.

He brought it to me and with about £150 in parts and £50 to me he went from bent to good with only a few scratches remaining.

If the bike shop said it was a write off and not an insurance company then no it isn't and never actually was.

Its looking good, especially for only £200, what work needed doing to it?

I think he means the H bar, piece of metal at the front that holds your screen and stuff in place.

Might just be the picture but the screen doesn't look quite the same as the old one? Is it different kev?

If some bastard actually replied to my thread about a fairing sprayer in North London I could get the nose cone done to match the rest of the colour scheme.

By the way I'd originally taken it to a garage to get the work done when he started spouting a load of bollox about how this and that's broke giving lot's of "Ohhhh that's expensive" etc.

He ended up trying to offer me £500 for it..........Needless to say I got it the fuck outta there sharpish, the best bit was telling me a new hanger would set me back about £150, and that didnt include the peg or gear lever Shocked

Pure Bikes in bethnal green = Wankers.

Iridium screens are never the same GTI, that's half the 'appeal' of them.

It's got a crack in it that needs doing so I thought I'd get the thing sprayed to the same colour scheme as the rest of the bike, although if those are all decals I can rip them off and put on the original ones.

Cheaper and less hassle to keep an eye open for some fairings in the same colour scheme as the originals as getting them resprayed and repaired will be lots more expensive then finding some in the colours and un-broken and selling those ones. Thumbs Up

We've tried but no luck, so we just settled for this one. I'm hoping those are all decals, if they are I can get the original ones made up for a nunpence and stick them on instead.

Front fairings don't come along very often at all, in good condition second hand so if you want some undamaged ones with original decals and paint job just wait for them, lots cheaper than getting repaired, resprayed and new decals.

Fixing a small crack and sorting out some decals would be cheaper then getting a mint condition one in the same colour scheme,

Although the chances of that happening are slim, the front's the first thing to get smashed on a bike isn't it, just look what happened to mine Very Happy

No it's not, you buy mint one then sell current one. I bought a mint front ZX6R fairing before for around £70, and then managed to sell the old one which had a shit home bodged paint job and was damaged for about £90.

Just keep an eye on eBay and there'll be one at some point.

I could be waiting some time for one to spring up.
Maybe I should have mentioned that I've been without the bike for 8 weeks and if I have to use public transport any longer I'll start randomly pushing people/kids/the elderly in front of buses.

The funny thing is people think I'm joking......

Just keep it how it is and use it, and when you find fairing in exact right colours and decals buy that fairing and seel the current one. Thumbs Up
