I have never got my money's worth out of any crash-hat I have bought in the last twenty years.... I ent crashed!
Safety wear is the last line of defence; wont stop you crashing, just how much it gonna hurt if you do.
Trick is not to crash in the first place.
I dont put a crash helmet on to walk to the corner shop or cross the road, and I'm far more likely to get injured as a pedestrian doing that, than I am riding around the 20mph/30mph streets popping out for a pack of fags or a pint of milk.
WTF would I want to spend twenty minutes suiting up like a power ranger... in leather that provides loads of abrasion resistance for a long distance, high speed slide along tarmac, on a race track, to ride two miles down 30mph roads to screw-fix, where even if I DID come off, biggest risk is hitting something hard and unyeilding that would brake bones and mash internal organs, no leathers would offer much protection against, anyway?
But hey, dont make an informed decision on what to wear for yourself, dont apply logic and common sense, let your fear rule your reason, and just follow the PC mantra, and insist that leathers are 'essential', because, well, they create an invulnarability field around the wearer dont they? ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

I couldn't agree more, Mike. I've lost so much respect for the law since growing up and seeing everything get banned or become mandatory. I swear if they go much further with bullshit like mandatory helmets and whatnot I'm just going to do what I damn well please since the trade off between risking jail/fines/ban and having no freedom to live my life as I'd like will at some point become even.
Smash the system! |

Pretty tidy little bike - and just to go along with the convo in here... I wear my leathers when I am on my bike - whether i'm just going to the shops, or going for a 30+ mile ride. I feel a lot safer in my leathers on my bike than just jeans, jacket and helmet.
Cool bike though. ____________________ CBT Passed - 22 / 10 / 11 >> Theory Passed - 16 / 02 / 2012 >> Mod 1 Passed - 07 / 03 / 2012 >> Mod 2 Passed - 18 / 05 / 2012. |

I know, I found it highly ironic too
Buy little bike so I don't have to put 1 piece leathers on, then fall off wearing jeans.
Bikes brilliant though, even if it does have a 4 speed, all up, gearbox, weird going down all the gears to find yourself sitting at a junction in neutral
Suspension deffo needs needs tweaking, far too soft for the road.
Insurance was on a new policy, 4 years NCB, 33 years old. |

You do know you can't use your GSXR NCB if you have that insured on another policy. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

Irony indeed, I have to say that is a pretty hard lesson for you, knee looks well painful! I love it when wounds like that dry out when your leg is straight and you try and bend it... Great object lesson for me though, thanks for posting ____________________ Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruitsalad!

Sorry I couldn't help but laugh. I just pictured you high siding off a pit bike!!
I've just bought one of these exactly the same but not road registered as of yet. Quicker than you think aren't they. ____________________ Road bike - 2002 YAMAHA R6(SOLD) 2008 YAMAHA R1(SOLD) 2007 APRILIA SXV 550(SOLD) 2007 SUZUKI GSXR 600
