This winters mountain biking photos

Got a new mountain bike last Autumn to give me something to do whilst it's a bit crap weather for going out on the motorbike just for fun.

I got a Giant Anthem X3, it's a 2011 model and I used it to go out exploring in local woods and country lanes as well as visiting Thetford forest trail centre a few times.
Had a really good time despite the cold and it gave me a new sense of freedom that even my motorbike doesn't offer as you can quite literally go anywhere.

Most of my riding was done along, I went on a couple of rides with friends but without blowing my own trumpet none of my friends are exactly fitness freaks and it gets a little frustrating stopping every ten minutes for a break.

Anyway now that winter is officially over woo I thought I'd post some of my photos that I've taken out on the bike this winter.
Please note my cameras an old compact and I'm not great at photography so have no idea if the photos are actually any good but they look nice to me.

Nice pics.

Heard there's some decent trails at Thetford, I've been off the bike for a couple of months as I hurt myself in November time.

Looking to get back out on it in the next week or so, so maybe up for something once I've rebuilt a bit of base fitness.

Yeah Thetfords pretty cool, it's the only trail centre anywhere near me so I don't have a lot of choice.
There are two red routes although from what others say they are quite tame for red routes. One is pretty flat and just has lots of man made banked corner sections that wind through the trees. It's nice to ride if you go fast and get it right as it flows well but it's not particularly challenging.
The other red route is my favorite it has lots of dips and a fun section called 'The Beast' where you don't need to pedal for quite a while if you don't want as the momentum carries you down the hills and up the next one.
The whole area is a bit flat though it would benefit from being more hilly.

Chicksands BP is on my doorstep, so that's where I tend to go. Thetford is about an hour or so I reckon.
