I am thinking of booking a trackday Shocked

I emailed No Limits to get info about my 33hp licence, and if my textile suit would be ok.

The licence wasn't an issue, but they said that all riders must wear leather. So I guess I had better buy some leathers...

I am considering buying second hand, but this set caught my eye:

Any advice on choosing leathers to a budget?

Cheers Very Happy

Ebay, second hand a well known brand for peanuts. Then get them altered to fit your properly ( if you can be arsed. )

It'll be less than £200. My old man got an old school Dainese one piece for about £50 for a trackday.

As 'ham says - I usually pay under £100 for a set of leathers, then altered to fit.

Or see what's for sale locally and try some on to see if you can get a good fit.

Probably won't 'lose' much in the way of value if you do want to sell them on later.

However, do be aware that if you don't feel confident at 90mph on the road, a trackday may be quite an 'intense' experience - I don't think I've seen anyone do a trackday that wasn't comfortable doing those sorts of speeds on the road.

But, providing it's got a friendly novice group, it shouldn't be a big issue.

I will have a look at the Sunday car boot sale in that case, there usually leathers for sale there.

And as far as speed goes, firstly I have wanted to do a track day as it might give me ore confidence, and second, I don't feel like I SHOULD be doing that sort of speed on the road (shall we discuss this in my faggot pansy thread? Laughing )

If the road was bumpy and part of the discomfort was the suspension having a hard time dealing with it, or not having the sight lines and not knowing the road, the track may help.

The back-roads of Essex are getting bumpier every year, just last weekend I was almost thrown out of my seat by a bump, in a bend, at no more than 55: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsATQizI9fQ

Doesn't look as dramatic as it felt, it threw me right up in the air, and the deformity wasn't very visible on the surface. I wouldn't want to have hit that bump at 90.

They will fit 42/44, I'm a 42 and they fit but with plenty of room. Bit tatty but a good set of leathers still that will take a battering.
