Set the 'record' thingy on my telly box last weekend for the BSB Oulton Park meeting, always use the 'record' facility as I want to watch the action and not the bollocks between races. Started watching it on sunday evening and quite frankly I was so bored that I skipped a lot and then got fed up and deleted everything. Except for Josh Brookes and Alex Lowes the rest look to be (comparatively) old farts (Shakey, James Ellison, Michael Rutter, Chris Walker + other names from the past) and the rest being 'riders' more so than racers. Sure 'Shakey's doing the business but at thirty+whatever age he is he should be fighting-off late-teens and early twenty's and what a lack-lustre crowd these are, most appear to be quite content to just 'circulate'. Shakey's looking more like a big fish in a small pond and certainly not up to WSB (I'd love to be wrong there) The last really exciting rider that light up the screen to my mind was the late Craig Jones, a bloke hungry for success. BSB a short time ago was a great 'feeder' series for WSB but at the moment none of 'em are good enough to my mind. Sad Sad Sad

Don't bother again. Razz

A few things though, Ellison is 32. Is that too old to be competitive? If so then best tell Kevin Shwantz who made the podium in Suzuka...this year. Biaggi...Checa...more fast old farts who should've known better. Wink
Jones never raced a BSB bike, he was supersports.

BSB is still the best national Superbike series in the world, that's why it still attracts some of the best foreign riders. Some make it to WSB and some have gone onto MotoGp, that's a sign of a healthy Class in my opinion.
On Sunday the crowd at Oulton Park were a little subdued, I don't know why. I was there and quite liked the chilled vibe and even had a snooze when the Moto3 and 125s were racing...much like I do at home. Smile And what better way to drift off than to screaming 125s and farting 250s (end of a long week).

I want new faces in the paddock too as it's unlikely that Rutter or Walker will fight for the title, but what can you do with Racers who only want to carry on racing and who consistently finish in the top10, and have a good list of personal sponsors. IIRC Rutter still whoops ass at Macau and that alone gives him the right to race in BSB.

I'd say it's still worth setting your machine to record the last couple of races. Thumbs Up

Like to see Tommy Bridewell in a top team. It would be worth it just to see how many interviews he could do without swearing.
