Well, Mrs B has been informed that sadly it's going to have to UTB every time from now on.

Right, it's... interesting. It'll hold an indicated 85 on the motorway, and is fine on smooth roads. Very comfy, like a motorised easy-chair, with a great screen - the first one I've had that I don't feel compelled to extend.

I didn't have any problem adjusting to the lack of gears, although I was using the rear brake as a "clutch" while slowing down. It's hardly a rocketship, but it's faster than it feels: I thought I was going nowhere then realised I was doing 50 in a 30 50.

However, it's comical on bumps, tight bends and roundabouts. Massive lean on teeny tyres to get around, I kept sticking a foot out...

Where it's perhaps least convincing is stop-go, which is surprising. Yes, there's no clutch or gears, but having to spin the engine up to find the biting point makes nipping into gaps a bit haphazard. Also, when coming to a stop, the drive drops off a bit unpredicatably, meaning you have to be quick getting your feet down. I probably just need to wring its neck more while holding it on the brake.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it, and I got it a good price thanks to a bunch of other buyers being typical eBay bellends and messing the seller around. Dance!

The rear is better than throttle for modulating slow speed, and keeps the clutch engaged...

Exactly. I'm generally going fast enough up to stops that I'm braking positively to a halt, rather than coasting or engine braking.

I prefer the 16 inchers on mine in part because of this.

The trick is to full throttle whenever you can in straights, so that you acclimatize to how it accelerates. Whacking on full throttle on a CVT generally gives predictable acceleration, with the rate of acceleration a smooth inverse function of speed. The predictability lets you go for more gaps once you're used to it.

The ugliness of the Burgervan should keep it fairly secure too Wink

Mrs B is not impressed, by the way, but wait until she finds out I can do handbrake turns now. Cool

1st it was a BMW, now a scooter (with excellent weather protection and low maintenance....and don't forget the tight turning circle ability.... loads of storage...I hear that a little tray drops down that incorporates a cup holder).

Guess you don't like having sex. Smile

There's an optional Fleshlight in the console for that. I think it comes free with the wrap around apron.

Borrow my daughter's scooter and I find myself sticking a foot out supermoto style Wink

Keep us posted on maintenance and your improved/different sex life.

Don't laugh, no don't but I was considering a Piaggio X9 for the commute. Sadly sold before I could get around to the financial details.

Very Happy Thumbs Up
