I was even thinking about not going since my crash a week ago. My confidence was shaken and this track day was pretty much first time riding fast since the crash. It was very cold and windy when morning sessions started and that was not encouraging either. It all showed in my morning sessions when I had good/slow speed to take corners but my brain on 2 occasions decided I will go straight on the grass as a safer bet. I kept the bike upright every time. It was all in my head I know.

But the afternoon sessions were proper fun, I started overtaking some people, but I was still keeping it easy. Basically I told to myself not to get carried away in my first track day and not to chase after some faster riders. I didn't want to drop the bike and end the season in shit. Next year will be my track day year, this year it was just the test.. and I know I want more.. From afternoon sessions I was grinning under my helmet a lot Twisted Evil

Still much to learn about the race lines.. and one sharp corner next to the pits was making me somewhat uncomfortable.. couldn't figure out which gear, what speed to take it lol.. Most of the time I was ending up with too low speed and too low revs on the exit.

There were 3 or 4 crashes on the day.. some other incidents.

One of unfortunate guys.. he lost it on last corner before long straight, our session was red flagged...

Even though it was a cold day and I was cruising there my tyre was slowly starting to look like this...

Overall a great day. My tights are somewhat achy now. I'm glad I decided to go.

Bedford Autodrome's good isn't it.

That long left is ideal for elbow down attempts.

It was surprisingly a great track Thumbs Up

Some bends can be a real fun. I'll go back there next spring/summer for sure. It's only 25 miles away from my home Very Happy

Glad you had fun dude, loved my first at Rockingham. Going to try get to Bedford once my restrictor comes off, only just up the road from Cambridge so could even make it regular ha!

I was relaxed because I was fairly slow Wink It was very cold day and I just had a crash a week earlier so I told to myself to take it easy.

I'll be in Bedford again on 14th October. And Rockingham is the one I'd like to do too, but probably next year. Tight budget at the moment.

Today I was in Snetterton.. I was still taking it easy. I cannot afford any crash at the moment (my pockets are empty lol). I wouldn't have been able to get back home. I didn't want to get stranded 100 miles away. With this in my mind I obviously was not pushing my limits today.. I got distracted once and ended up on the grass. Photo included for LOLs Wink

Oh and I rode first session with lights on too. I won't add those photos, too embarrassing Laughing

Yeah.. I was in Bedford on 14th as well. It was cold and wet. We had a chat. I did only morning session 1 and 2, two laps in session 3 and most of the session 4. It was ok, but I hoped for a dry day to improve... instead I was tip-toeing in wet Wink

Wet tyres are very high on my shopping list.

Two photos from this week...

Quite a butt clenching experience Wink I did not drop my bike on the track but I managed to do it in the garage. Slippery floor Embarassed
