Sadly it wasn't perfect
If you look closely at the front calipers you'll see the banjo bolts are at the top and the bleed nipples are at the bottom. They are therefore upside down which can only be done by also putting them on the wrong side
On stripping and rebuilding with fresh seals they were impossible to bleed. After ages of pissing around i tried the bleed nipple off the rear on one of the fronts and it bled perfectly. 2 new nipples later and it became clear why they had been upside down, so that some pikey could bleed them through the banjo!

- leak in the tank where the badge was fitted - Replaced
- more throtle cable free play than actual action - adjusted
- bodged gear select - replaced
- weak as fuck center stand spring - replaced, then connected to the right bloody place, cheers keith!
- very soft forks - removed bodged preload (huge nuts) replaced air valves and correctly pressurised
- slight leak on right fork seal - rebuilt and changed both seals
- clutch drags a bit - might be fixed, might be fucked, still undecided

Additionally a headlight bracket is missing meaning the light points at the sky. a possibly fitting one has been ordered from the US of A and is taking its sweet time getting here.
The rear tire though new wouldn't hold pressure. I replaced the valve but no luck. Stuck an inner tube in it.
Overall it's been a pain in the arse fixing other peoples handywork, but i'm starting to get some confidence in the bike now. In a straight line it's not too slow at it handles well for a bike if it's age and era. |

This bike inspired me to keep hunting for a gpz and not go with secondary choices, I found an 86 gpz600r in very similar colours to this and after much patience it is now mine ____________________ www.soundcloud.com/bodren |
