A Mates 2001 Mito Evo, I’m currently doing a engine swap on plus new chain+sprokets.

The effects of no maintenance, thrashing, and cheap oil. Seized piston and big end failer at only 5,000 miles

Just got the old engine out Friday night and Saturday should be able to fit a 4,000 mile engine l picked up from a dealer for £400.

god that brings back memories

me quivers! I can remember once being short of oil ond cash. I thought ahh fuck it once wont hurt it. So I rode down to the local petrol station and bought some of that cheap 2T stuff you put in lawnmowers!

Shocked Bad Move

Give me a firm chest though pushing it back 6 miles with a seized engine

My mate had huge problems with his Mito, He looked after it REALLY well too, Blew up at 1.5 and 5.5k, At the 5.5k sieze he was doing about 90MPH and the rear wheel locked up while he was just behind me Shocked So he paid someone to steal it and burn it out for the insurance money Smile Maybe he was unlucky...

On another note, I rode my RS125 for a few miles on 4stroke oil Twisted Evil after it conked out at this old petrol station in the middle of nowhere that only sold 4t oil, So put a few ml's in and went on my way Smile Looking back at it, I was VERY lucky.

Maybe you should of taken some inspiration from those guys and bolted the RD350 lump into it. Turn it into a little rocket! Cool

What you really wanna do is put a supamotard 400cc engine in their and get some underseat pipes made up for it then have a mini duke 400 which will pop wheelies in the first 3 gears Very Happy

I've had this idea for a while but may do it in the next 10 yrs if possible.

That brings back some bad memories of rebuilding my cagiva supercity, i done loads of work on the engine which cost me a couple hundred: new piston kit, re-nicosil plated, new clutch plates and a few more minor bits. Anyway got it done and realised i will get more money if it sell the bike in bits than rebuild it as they ain't worth that much plus a lot more work was needed on the actual bike.

Put the engine on ebay and got £480 for it which i was well chuffed with. Plus i got about £500 for all the other bits so happy i worked it that way.

Here's some pics of the engine.

Talking of 2T oil...

My nextdoor neighbour is a customs officer and he used to work on the Customs and exercise boats which were 2T outboard engines...

Well they have stoped using the boats now and they had 3 gallons of 2T oil left so he slung it my way Mr. Green ...

Ive got 3 bottles of 2T oil now which I havnt used yet because my 1ltr bottle of Silkoline Sport scoot 2 hasnt ran out yet...

now this 2T oil, It is made by Quicksilver (yes, the make which also makes snowboards etc) and it is green. It is fully synthetic and on each bottle there is a lable with £25 on it...

Surely this will be fine to put in my scooter wont it?

techinacly it should be fine on your scooter, but l,ve used that sort stuff on my inboard (boat engine) and l think its for pre-mix only not for oil injectors.

also don,t think it matters but 2T out/inboard eninges are very low reving compaired to 2T a bike enigne
