It would be a shock to the system going out at ACU pace if you've never been on track before.

Yes you need to bring a bike and all the riding kit
These assessments track sessions are controlled and the race starts are run to give you a feel of starting for the first time
Everyone in the session is there to be assessed as to whether they can handle a bike not to see how fast they are

On the days I did with BEMSEE a good few years ago there was a, ah, 'wide range of abilities' on the race training day.

Though the first one in the morning the track was covered in snow. (I also learnt a valuable lesson on the race start - after thinking "if they can go that fast, I can"... then watching one of the people I was chasing having a massive high side, I realised that's not always an amazing methodology to follow!)

What a load of elf and safety bollox. Another way of getting money out of a lad who just wants to race a bike.
30 years ago - buy a bike - get a licence - ride it to the track - race - ride home again. No kittens killed, a few racers killed but that's been the same over time.
I'm not having a go at Hottrax but all this crap you have to go through to race or even ride a bike that can pull the skin off a rice pudding is just wrong.
You go to a track day now and spend as much time listening to some wannabe telling you flag colours and waiting cos you've been flagged off because someone has dumped it but isn't being a danger to anyone. Worlds gone mad.
