My mrs kindly got me a Ron haslam track day/school thingy, on a cbr600, really looking forward to it, but im just wondering if anyone has any inside scoops to what its like?

Ive only ever done supermoto, and hill climb/sprint events, i think im either going to find out that im fast, or realise that im really slow! i suspect the latter!

cheers!

It's good, you'll learn a lot. Sets you up nicely for track days if you've not done any before, or will improve you for next time Cool

I'm afraid it's more of a 'track experience' than a 'race school' from what I've seen - so as you've got previous experience of pushing a bike a bit, I'd hope you're one of the fast ones there.

Had a free day a few years ago,but that time in the sunshine

The previous time was in the torrential rain, with new bikes and fresh tarmac to contend with

I've did it last year around November if I recall correctly. However I do agree with G that it is more of a track day experience rather than a "race school". I had never been on a track before though and I don't tend to ride that fast either.

So for me it was an interesting way of seeing what a track day is like whilst using someone else's bike and getting tips off the instructor.

Would I do it again? probably not as I would prefer to spend the money on a normal track day closer to home. Would I recommend it? Yeah as long as your aware that its not a "race school" but a good introduction into track-days if not a bit expensive.

Note that most trackdays will offer free instructors.
