I'm in my car & traveling on a dual carriage way coming up to lights going up a hill & a bicycle rider is in the middle of the inside line, I overtake him by going into the second line & come back in & 50 metres down the lane stop at a red light & when the rider catches me he bangs on my roof saying give him room I point to the car stopped beside me on the dual carriage way!

Or is it that at a steady 15mph he would have covered that 50m in about 7 seconds, meaning you effectively overtook him, pulled in front, then slammed your brakes on...?

Presuming you mean he was in the outside lane...

Anyway. Did you pull fully into the RH lane to pass, or did you do a kind of half-arsed pulling two wheels onto the white line as if you were trying to sneak past without actually changing lane, as if it somehow costs you money or slows you down? Because a lot of people do that.

Sounds like you actually overtook and braked in front of him.

Makes you the baddie, not him.

You should have waited behind the cyclist instead of overtaking and braking, treat all road users the same regardless of the vehicle they are using and ask yourself would you have overtaken a larger vehicle such as a car or van in the same manner.
