On Sunday 15 June 2014. Part of a Family Fun Day.

Turned out it was a bunch of guys stood around in a car park.
Supposed to be from Noon until 4pm.
Bikes started to assemble about 11am. However, by 2pm they were leaving, not worth viewing anything by just after 3pm.

Which is a shame as if you've committed to something then shouldn't you honour that and stay until closer to the posted time? There was an Ariel at 11am when I walked past. I'd have liked to learn more. Owner not around, the clique of other owners just kept talking between themselves. When I could get back at 2pm it'd gone.

Not sure how it could be improved. Anyone have any suggestions I'd like to pass on to the lazy council who supposedly organised this.

There was a mixture of old and new stuff (e.g. Royal Enfield - Indian versions).

Now onto the pictures...

This guy on a BSA was good to talk to. Plus IMO if you've got an old bike you really need to have the beard and his was top notch...

Nice... better turn out than the 'show' I went to last week Rolling Eyes

But while you grumble about the quantity... they certainly made up for it with some quality there, Map!

You dont get many Egli-Vincents to the pound, that's for sure!
(Google Egli; he's still going. Swiss Special builder from the Cafe Era; offers frame kits a bit like Harris, Spondon or Rickman; his trade-mark is a HUGE spine tube, usually doubling as a dry-sump oil-tank, and I'm sure there is a connection with Floyd Clymar's US 'Indian' concern in the 1960's to the Egli-Vincent)

Looks like there were some interesting bikes there, though 'the Russian thing' gives me post traumatic flash-backs to a very uncomfortable evening in 1997!

I can tell you a bit about this bike as I know the owner. It cost him 50 (yes, fifty) grand and took about five years to build. In fact, it could have been longer. I forget the exact details. The owner is a friendly older guy and willing to divulge the full story, but...well. You can imagine.

You can't quite get the full effect from that second angle, but that Smiths speedo must be nearly six inches in diameter.
