Sizes on my bike are 120/70 and 180/55. I keep seeing 180/60s come up at decent prices, and some 190s too.

I know a 190 will fit, just. Will I notice a difference? What specifically would happen if I fitted a 60 rather than a 55?

I'm happy with the way my bike handles at the moment but I'm curious.

If anyone should be reading this and want to offload a set of K1 F/K2 R in 180/55 with lots of meat left, PM me.

Go for the 180. I am surprised there aren't oodles of 180/55s floating about.

Anyway, the 55/60 is the profile, the 60 will be slightly 'steeper' profile, therefore the bike will be easier to flip side to side.

Ta. I've since learned the Triumph Triple Cup racers are on 180/60s, so that's good enough for me. A mate who races in Thundersport says most of the guys on 600s he races with are on 60s too for faster turn in and more edge grip.

180/55 and 180/60 are pretty similar and unless you are really tuned in to your bike I doubt you will notice the difference.
Pick up the best you can find for the handiest money.

One thing which may cause a problem is if you have a close fitting hugger. The simple solution is to remove it!
If you use warmers you'll probably know that often huggers designed for road bikes don't give much room for warmers even when using the standard tyres.

Thumbs Up
