Hey, so the blackbird I bought from paddy (from joolz, from jay) was a bit tatty, and had a spurious 24V starter system, so I've fixed that, and fitted some chinese fairings, a bagster tank cover, levers and dan moto exhausts. Also some cheap ebay mirrors as the original ones were fucked.
Here's Squiffy_the_wombat with his hands to do up the starter motor, mine wouldn't fit!

Some of the fairing parts didn't come with holes, or the holes didn't mate etc:

The headlight lugs were impossible to get to, so I ended up using cable ties, as even if I could fit my fingers behind to put a nut in, I had no way of holding it.

Chinese spelling was better than expected, just missing one character.

And here's how it stands now,

I've got to fit a new shock, which I have but that's for another day. I'm really happy with how it's come out, even with the fairings not being that great. In total I've spent around 1600 on this bike now, including a full sevice with plugs, filters, clearances so I'm pretty happy with that.
Also really need to clean the back end lowers. I took it for a little pressure wash and it fixed up a bit, but actual elbow grease required.

I liked this bike a lot when I rode it - very deceptive with the speed, I found myself guestimating I was doing around 70-80 and glancing down to see the needle coming past 120. Very comfortable, brakes were good - but the way the thing corners for such a big heavy lump is incredible!
I know a guy locally that'll paint the tank very cheaply if you're wanting it to match with the fairings. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

I replaced the starter and solenoid. If I do a couple of short journeys around town with a few cold starts and only a mile or so it might need a bump but aside from that it's all good.
I've got onto the fairing people to just point out the issues with them and they offered me £20 off, so I'm going to raise an issue with ebay and see if I can get a fair percentage off. They weren't expensive but the advert clearly said no fitting problems and correct decals, and one of them was cracked.
Might get the tank painted later down the line, but I'm not overly bothered, it already looks much shinier and I like the tank cover for practicality and grip. ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |

My GSXR fairings were £330, I got £170 refunded with a cracked panel.
Looks far better |
