Hi

Might be worth checking the voltage into the regulator / rectifier (it is high, have the figures somewhere if you need them).

Only time I have had a bike still charging but insufficiently is when the stator has failed (one coil it it gone), but that wasn't on a Aprilia. Regulator / rectifiers for me have tended to either work or not work (not working by either not charging, or over charging).

Assuming that there isn't a large current drain.

All the best

Keith

I loved the before and after pic's of your sigle sided swingarm, I've got to do this same job very shortly but I'm going to have to change it from right hand side to left hand side. It will be a bit fiddly but its going on a pitbike project I'm building for the misses. I hope it turns out good, I've got my fingers crossed (TWICE) lol.
You've have done a brill job there mate, well done.

Hi

Major work to swap the chain drive over (and the swinging arm weighs a ton). Probably easiest to turn it upside down and chop off the shock mounts and weld them back on the other side.

All the best

Keith

Hi Keith, cheers for the feedback, I lot of people would not bother but its for the misses and I do enjoy a bit of tinkering lol. I'll keep you updated of the progress.

Hi

I would be tempted to take a close look at the RS50 single sided arm. Not as strong but on a pit bike probably not a major problem. And the chain is on the right side. Also doubt the pit bike uses a 520 chain so the smaller chain on the 50s swinging arm might be easier to match up

All the best

Keith
