The motorcycle equivalent of a DCD (mountain bikers will know what one of these is)

No idea what he actually used, but I particularly like the way be bolted it to the ankle guard to enable it to move with the swing arm Laughing

Looks like a fast way of wearing the chain out. It would have been better to put a sprocket and a bearing on the shaft, but he's obviously not that bright.

Cogratulations, you have almost just invented something that has been around for .... oooh... almost as long as the motorcycle drive chain....
https://www.xs650chopper.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/tensioner.png
Available in a wide variety or sizes and types, either slipper, sprocket or roller, with various length arms to accommodate a wide range of possible tensioning travel..
https://www.speedandsport.com/files/cache/1a5f3e3b0901ec592143c6167022af6c.jpg

What you have done, is well... horrendous frankly and assaults every sense of engineering aesthetics... WHY!

Just buy a new fucking chain, or the RIGHT fucking chain for the bike/sprocket sizing!

Doesn't look noisy as fook at all. Confused

I'm guessing that steep feed angle is also going to wear a nice slot in the sprocket cover as a nice bonus too. Thumbs Up

I don't get it, even if it took 5 minutes to fit that device, let alone make it, that's 5 minutes that could be used to adjust the chain or remove links surely?

Hi

It someone really want to do that, at least put it on the bottom chain run where the engine isn't trying to pull the chain hard against it when cruising or accelerating.

All the best

Keith

Don't be silly. He would have taken the chain off and replaced it with an elastic band. Because belt drive.

Zero backlash, bet that runs quiet. Do you think that there may be a market for this sort of self adjusting noise reducing device? This time next year you could be a millionaire!

First pic thoughts: Seems to be a home-made, and pretty well made, tool or device. Intrigued. High hopes of being impressed with its usage...

Second pic thoughts: Fucking idiot Confused
