I have had my Z1000 for 2 months now o thought i will post some pics and what i think of it
Its a 04, completely standard when i got it.
This is completely standard write up.
I use to ride a zzr 600 so a bit of a difference.
Front wheel will come up in 1st 2nd and 3rd. Not to sure on top speed as anything over 120 mph and the wind is to much.
Suspension is adjustable but it dose not really make a difference.
Ive added a pillion sissy bar as me and my partner do long journeys now and then.
Overall lovely bike, great for town, Sunday blast and commuting , its a great bike that i will keep. I don't really see that many of them around where im from and there is not that much info/reviews on the 1st gen compared to other bikes.
The mods i have done.
Seat cowl
Tail tidy
Belly panel
Mtc exhaust but sounder shit so got delkevic end can for it
Air box mod with k&n air filter
Pc5 and had a costume map
Grab rail
Pazzo shorty levers
Rad guard
Gear indicator
Think there is a few more but forgot, the bike is an animal to ride now.
Most people say i should of got a Street Triple. But i had a people ride it who have said that they prefer it. Saying its more of an animal now with these mods, front tyre comes up a lot easier and overall more fun

Nice, I've always liked the look of those earlier ones, and love the orange colour; proper in yer face! Thumbs Up
As to people who say you should have got a Street Triple, the usual answer applies; if you like the Z, then you should have got the Z!

I like em too! Smile

The bright colours make the bikes too! I think it's got the power the looks, attitude and a reasonably competent chassis that the Bandit always craved!

I do like the four shotgun pipes on them, but can see why you want aftermarket. I'm also a bit of a picky whore with aftermarket pipes, and only like full systems over end can's to justify me having to rip the old stuff off in the first place.

I do think a Devil pipe or a Hindle would suit this beast in my head anyway!

The same reasons people like orange Z1000's are the same as those who like Pink Speed triple 955i's, and I'd be happy with either, more so than a 900 Hornet which is still a good bike or at least could be with work.
