I'd go for an Optimate charger tbh, thats what the folks down at my local bike place suggested when I went in to buy the Oxford charger, they said the Oxford once are nowhere near as good as they used to be.

Great way to shine up the downpipes is with progressively finer sandpaper/glasspaper. Start with a medium grit to get rid of all the surface pitting and marks, then get finer and finer to smooth out the scratches caused by the medium grit.

Once you run out of fine paper to use, wire wool and autosol should finish it off a treat.

The Optimate 3+, that a good one?

Would I need to completely remove the battery - in a Hornets case?

If I remember right it shouldn't be a nightmare.

Seat off, right hand side panel off, remove rubber strap holding battery.

Disconnect negative terminal then I think you have to flex the plastic battery cover and slide the battery out a bit to get to the positive terminal to undo that.

Fit dangly dongle connector lead for charger - positive connection first and route it somewhere accessible held with a cable tie.

Put it back together. Half an hour, job done Thumbs Up

Yep its quite a straightforwards job. Route the lead along the frame through the gaps and then you've got easy access to it under the seat.

I went for an Optimate 4 I think, does everything I could want, and was ballpark £60, but can't remember exactly.

I got the Oxford for £25 on ebay and works fine but not had it on all the time. Have gone for a couple of weeks without riding and havent had any problems starting so depends how long you are going to leave it standing for. Saying that, the previous owner did put a new battery in before I had i!

SBS are selling the 4 for just under £50 at the mo. Good price, might get that one.

Blue is the slowest colour. That's why you can see it in the sky cos the rest have left it behind.
