Really good progress
Did your set up for freeing the compression damping adjuster work? Need to perform a similar procedure on my machine I think...

Few things gone on.
Firstly I balanced the carbs which has cleaned up the idle a bit, however a full service including valves will make it better still. However I can't change the plugs as I have no suitable plug spanner and all the ones I've borrowed have too thick a wall to fit down the holes
Today my friendly courier brought these -

The aim is to swop them with the existing wheels which have been painted with a yard brush, probably do the back first as It's going to need a tyre sooner rather than later, so I'll get the spare rear tarted up (already having polished rims lends it to home resto, simply mask off the alloy bits then rattle can the centre you colour of choice, in my case possibly flare pink for that authentic 90's feel) and get a tyre on it then swop it over, et voila no quarter tonne bike hanging around for days on a paddock stand waiting for the wheel to get the old tyre off, blasted, powder coated, new tyre on. ____________________ 18:54:48 Rob Fzs: jews don't give away stuff for free

halfrauds sell a blue t handle which is thin enough. you can knock the rivet out the handle and plug a 3/8 extension into the top of it. ____________________ Turbocharged drag thing / project death weapon / GK73A
Ste: I'm not entirely sure how you'd go about verbally abusing someone with a potato but I'm sure it's possible. |

Well I still own the GSXR, unfortuantly it popped a fork seal the first time I rode it in anger after it's winter service and has been off the road ever since. MOT ran out in June. Basically I didn't have the money to complete the X5 resto and fix the GSXR. However the X5 is now done and a few weeks ago, spurred on by a bumper overtime payment, I though I'd best start fixing the 1100.
This is where we are currently -
https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/BLUEX5/newfalks_zps1931da6c.jpg~original
Spare wheels powdercoated (was going to go with white as per original but I have better things to do then clean wheels). Spare forks rebuilt at massive expense - New stanctions / bushes / revalved. Then £140 added to the bill cause one of the top caps was seized solid in the leg and had to be machined out
Big dollar spent last night on OEM front discs and pads, new rear disc (Chinese shit because the rear is just for MOT purposes), I have managed to sort a set of Michelin Pilot Road tyres at a bargain price. Once I get the discs I can get them fitted and the wheel bearings pressed in then I'll take the wheels for tyre fitting. Then hopefully a weekends work swopping everything over and it'll be ready for MOT. Also I fitted a Motobatt. It was shite so I put a genuine Yuasa on last weekend and it started first prod. |
