As for indication of price, we are thinking about 2200 - 2300 but its up in the air at the moment.
It is the same frame as the 125 -

It might not be a nice thing for you to hear as you are trying to get a new brand accepted and some people to buy that brand.
Your bikes will compete against second hand 250`s , so a price that is attractive is very important.
How do I know this? because I have looked at second hand 250`s and compered then to new Chinese 250`s.
If I am doing it, you can be sure others are doing it also. |
As a potential buyer, the competition is the Suzuki TU250 "Big Boy" Grasstracker, that I see imported regularly on eGay :-
https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzY4WDEwMjQ=/z/v9gAAOSwVFlUDulX/$_12.JPG
They list between £2-3000, usually around 10 years old with up to 10k on the clock.
Seeing as it's a 125 with a 250 engine, I'm guessing £1600 for a new bike plus £900 for the 250 engine (172FMM, eBay) minus £500 for the 125 engine (K157FMI, again on eBay) puts the price I'd like to see (bearing in mind they are RRP figures) around the £2000 mark, as a hastily cobbled together rough guestimate.
Do that and I'd buy one today, test ride depending

My ideal bike garage changes all the time. But the flat-track/grass-track style or whatever it is, always appeals to me.
I like small bikes, but they have to be fun, i.e. my pit bike, my cub, my MT5, my mates TZR50. I don't know how you'd build fun into a bike though.
My bikes are both tools and toys, bar one of my bikes, so as such something that disintegrates in salty snow or sitting in the rain all day at work is not the bike for me. I'm not sure what the component strength is like on the sinnis's as the few of my mates that have a 125 have only kept them for a few months then moved on or they are so new still and used only on good days that I don't know what they would be like with rust.
Like Pepperami said, price needs to be good enough to compete with second-hand, well-known brand 250's. My budget is quite small though with bikes, so I would probably buy a second-hand Sinnis anyway. ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

And thinking about it a bit more, please provide a service where any emissions crap is already junked, a freer-flowing exhaust is fitted and carb jetted to suit, and a sensible front sprocket already selected for the aforementioned mods.
[edit] If indeed you can't do that as standard. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I'm guessing the stats will be similar to its sister, the HMC Classic :-

Had a go on one of the Sinnis Cafe 125's.
Wanted to hate it, Chinese rubbish etc...very suprised! Bit slow on top end, but then again I'd been riding a 1200 Bandit all week & I'm a fat bastard. Did actually feel like a fairly decent quality product, for the money you can't really argue! ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

Ah, see this was a used one & had several thousand miles on it. I also diddn't get a really long stretch of road to run it up on, found it would happily pull to 60 & then seemed to struggle a bit. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

The only problem I can see with your bike is when you discontinue them you only supply for 2 years after discontinuing the product. ____________________ Theory 11-10-12 lets hope i get mod 1 and 2 done by the 18th of jan 2013 |
