short version, anyone tried Pirreli scorpion XC mid hard?

--------------------

long version, went to my local tyre place, ride in - ride out while u wait service, to be told that they wouldn't do dirt bikes or off road tyres anymore, no reasons given Confused

decided that it was about time I learned to do things for myself anyway, figured I'd order my tyres, change my tyres etc, then after talking to a lot of my friends, decided I wanted mousses fitted (three bikes out of sixteen didn't make it back yesterday, one lost it's spark, two got punctures), and that it's a pain in the neck to do, especially given my limited skills, so might want to get someone to do that for me

then I thought, well I might as well get the guy who does the mousses to fit new tyres as well. Currently I have AC-10's on, I'm happy with them, but the tyre/mousse fitting guy has suggested I might go with Pirreli scorpion XC mid hard.

Wondered what they were like? no one else yesterday had them on their bikes.

If those tyres that you specify are motocross as I suspect that they are, then they are not road legal and it may well be that your local shop knows this fact

https://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/motorsport-world/genericPage/moto_cross

But if you wanted road legal then the Pirelli Scorpian MT83 is okay to use on the road and is 'E' marked

If a tyre was recommended for your bike,I would suggest the Pirelli MT21

I raced on these tyres when they were okay for the class that I was in,but once I changed bike then the MT83 were my choice. They are virtually the same as the Metzeler Six Day Enduro, except for the price. The Pirellis are cheaper Thumbs Up

XC suggests enduro not motocross ... and a quick google reveals that is the case. Being enduro, they are road legal.

The MT21s are a nice choice if you're doing a fair bit of road work, but something like this 'XC' will be better off road in pretty much all situations.

Just had a look and used MT83s or something very similar in the past. I expect the 'XC' tyres replaced them.
