It's not big, its not clever and once or twice the rider was lucky.

The thing with luck when riding like that, is sooner or later it runs out and some poor bastard has to live with the consequences of killing the idiot.

It was very close with that bus near the end.
It's not a defence but sometimes going much faster than everything else means you are past things before they can move to try and kill you.

Wonder if the motorway variable speed limit camera they went through was live. Couldn't see the speed limit on the overheads as it went past too quickly, but a slow queue on the motorway is usually shown as a 40mph roundel.

Yes, that bus. Imo if he had been doing 50-70 there he would be dead.

I found it quite exciting I must admit. For me its one of those things you have the urge to do but not the balls.

I'd tell my kids that it was irresponsible and dangerous. But in the hope that there are mature and responsible people here, I must say secretly it was epic!

To the rider; for next time, make sure it's a live stream. I doubt you'll get round to uploading it 👍

And if someone decides to make a swerve from one lane to another - perhaps they're close to missing an exit (I've seen this many times), or they're having an argument in the car, or they get a flat tyre, or they run out of fuel, or they have a breakdown (I've seen this), or a fox runs onto the motorway (I've seen this) or any of a whole bunch of reasons - 30 metres in front of you, you won't have time to avoid.

It takes very little change of direction for a chosen line at that speed to become a certain accident.

The probability of such a swerve is low when the traffic is moving quickly, but not very low. I'd say you'd see one every 10 hours or so.

30 metres at 100mph is 0.67 seconds; plenty of time for a car's swerve to start and block the path between two vehicles. Slowing from 100 to 70 at 1.5G (optimistic!) takes 0.9 seconds. Making a big avoidance swerve in very little space at 100mph? Good luck with that.

And I think he was going faster than 100mph.

To fast for me, was relying on Luck rather than Skill IMO. Any Dickhead can cunt it through traffic at 100+, but one lane change could easily spell game over. I filter fast, however I know I can stop/avoid the majority of what could come my way.

I completely agree that it's incredibly dangerous and selfish. That said, I do admire the guys balls, speed of decision making and bike control.
I shit my pants just watching that Smile

But yeah, the dude has a death wish and doesn't appear to give a shit about any other road users.

Presumably the same sort of stuff was happening on his mates bike, who while tended to undertake on inside lane is also a bit of a wang.

Holy crap, that bus around 1:30 made me clench my butt in front of the computer.
It does look pretty impressive though but I wouldn't say it's worth the risk

0.67 seconds is easily enough to make two full lane changes.

It's good news for the statistics, a certain amount of bikers have to die every year otherwise motorbikes would seem too safe and no longer be cool.

Stupid. This kind of shit gives the rest of us a bad reputation. Yeah sure both of those riders have skill but that isn't the sort of riding that should be done on public highways. If you want to hoon it like a nutter then get on the race track, at least then it's a controlled environment which doesn't usually put non-consenting people near life-threatening situations.

The twat will undoubtedly kill himself before long which doesn't really bother me but some other poor bastard will have to live with the 'Could I have done something else to have avoided this happening ?' for the rest of his life which isn't very fair.

Or someone else. A typical bike plus rider wighs in at over a quarter of a ton. Easily enough energy at 100mph (or even less) to kill someone in a car.

sigh. there may be "skill" involved but that will not protect you from drivers.

How can you expect them to see you in their mirror if you are going so fast?! Rolling Eyes
