Well here's something the normally sharp BCF'ers missed.

And so did I Embarassed

Turns out the pads aren't right even though they fit and there really isn't a big difference in the shape of them, Stupidly I ordered pads for the caliper I was going to use and didn't and didn't order new pads for different style of caliper so the bottom of the pad material is catching on the inside edge of the disc.

These are the right pads

I think the piston rings gave in after a few hundred miles after it was "rebuilt" by the guy from the Goonies in the dark using a £35 ebay chinese Barrel and piston kit.

Sounded pretty bad when I bought it and I knew it was gonna pop at some point and was going to use my original engine but that could do with a top end rebuild before I fitted it. So the plan was to use the crap engine until I got round to getting mine done, unfortunately didn't last long enough.

My engine is currently stripped and waiting to find a decent Barrel and piston kit and it'll be up and running again soon as its costing me a fortune using my car everyday. But it's a catch 22 putting about £60 fuel in my car a week and prevents me putting the money towards something more useful.

Thankfully it's Christmas and Santa should be bringing me a Kit Laughing

Unfortunately water got in from when it was sat around outside and ruined the top half of the barrel. Got a fairly substantial ridge inside the bore that could be rebored but won't find a 3mm oversized piston.

Just getting another Kit only £85 Thumbs Up

Bottom end appears to be good and was a brilliant runner before being sat up for at least 5 years full of oil will come out a lovely colour i'm sure.

Not going to Faff about resleeving etc Just going to order a decent Barrel and piston kit with a new set of gaskets and will be back on the road hopefully before new year Thumbs Up

What i mean i know cam and cam wheel has a locating stud......is there any marks on the cam wheel to set correct timing once cam been refitted in relation to the crank i know about the viewing hole to fly wheel for that postion .. Ive had to strip my engine due to needing a gasket on head and going to hone barrel as well as set of rings .. Main reason is bits of rtv sealer i put on inlet found it way into engine and keeps fouling the plug hence my breakdowns
