Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd upload my new bike as you do.. it's a 2005 (55) Suzuki Sv650. I know it's not the worlds most exciting bike, but I must admit I've had a fun day on it!

Generally, both my budget and love for older Kawasaki's mean I haven't ridden anything quite modern (aside from borrowing a few mates bikes). aside from my 125, this is the newest bike I've owned and I'm happy with it! I swapped my Zephyr for it plus handed him a bit of cash on the basis that the Zephyr needed a bit of TLC. Old Gent was from Cumbria and has all the intentions of restoring the Zephyr, hopefully I'll see the finished result.

It's in great condition IMO, and sounds amazing. the only things I reckon I'll be changing is the headlight and getting better mirrors fitted (it only has one, and it's quite small)

Overall, Happy Baz!

Edit: I should point out that it has once been down the road, it was once red, but looks to have been very well restored!

I am of the view that the SV650 is a budget bike, but it definitely has a place. I cannot fault mine on track, holds up well and on the road it's more than enough for your everyday stuff, just wish it was a little better kitted out suspension wise Smile

Looks tidy though. Real tidy.

Looks very shiny, congrats dude.

SV's, seem to split opinion, I definitely like mine a lot more than I was expecting. Quite attached to it now.
Suspension and brakes are not the best (mines done 42k miles so is worse still), but can be improved cheaply or expensively if you want.

IL4's get their smiles on the scream to the redline, v-twins are all about the roll-off Smile
Come barrelling towards a corner, close the throttle from anywhere around 8k. Boooooooow. Makes me smile every time.

Invest in a multimeter and maybe a front mudguard extender. Your model has updated HT leads to include weather protection to help stop water from being thrown down the front cylinder, but it still might be worth thinking about.

Enjoy the bike fella. Bottom line, it can still out accelerate a 911 to 60 and didn't cost £100k!
