What a twat, he's surely doing this as an act for comedy value? Laughing

"Not a drop of alcohol has passed my lips" must be one of the poorest but most effective election slogans. Should have stuck to acting a prat in the Big Brother house, that way he'd still be out of the public eye.

Whether you like him or not, he is a very good orator, he knows exactly which buttons to press, to get the reaction he wants.
He can and does run rings around the bunch of mealy mouthed, PPE graduates masquerading as MP's that we've ended up with!

Israeli-free.

He's just seen which way the wind is blowing, and has hitched his kite to that breeze.

Yes, you can hitch kites. Folded arms

Galloway needs to keep his profile up as that is what keeps the pennies rolling in for him. He has found an audience that looks right for todays cultural mixed bag usage.

All media people need air and somewhere to expel it.

He's a bit hot and cold at times.
In this video he is scorching hot on the debate over the Chilcot report in the commons.

Electoral fraud is said to be rife amongst Pakistani communities living within The UK.
Bradford West, Galloway's momentary constituency, does have previous form when it comes to electoral fraud. In 2010, five Pakistani men were jailed for conspiring to defraud the electoral registration officer of Bradford City Council.

And now 20,000 Bradford voters seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth!

Wonder how Mr Galloway will fare this time around?

This is what annoys me with him, he's a manipulative sh1t who's only out for himself and people fall for it.................

As are the rest of the current crop of politicos!
You could add "brilliant self publicist" to the list of accolades, illustrated perfectly by the fact that a thread has been started about him!

Quote:
Normally this sort of characteristic is despised in other politicians, with Galloway, it's almost applauded.

"Normally" this may be the case, however IMO, in the current political climate all politicians know they are, at least, perceived as being "at it".
They're all fighting for their tickets on the gravy train, and, no doubt, they're looking to each other to find the best ways to manipulate the electorate into voting them back to their places at the trough!
Given gorgeous George's powers of manipulation his fellow MP's are, probably in awe of him!

Wouldn't worry yourself too much about it - they'll reappear when the kerfuffle in North Syria dies down Rolling Eyes

, where's the democracy in that

The democracy is where you vote for the representative who you feel will best serve your needs (or ideally, the well-being of the country overall).
If you don't, you can stand yourself.
Of course, if you stand as an unaffiliated independent, you might find you don't get the support that someone who belongs to a 'whipped' party may do, partly because such people are more likely to be able to get policies through due to the support of all of the rest of the party for whipped cases.

You might be thinking of a 'Direct Democracy', where individuals get to vote on individual issues, as we do occasionally in referendums.
(I believe the US has more aspects of this for local governance.)
