Well after all the fueling, electrical and silly not working parts issues....It runs.

It came to me in a resprayed state. These pictures make it look amazing, it was most definitely nowhere near the pictures.

So I decided to get the cans out and strap the army kit to it Smile

Oh, it definitely suits that paint job. Also loving the panniers. Are they ammo boxes? I'm not too well swotted up on my military paraphernalia.

**EDIT** NVM, Google confirmed my belief there are in fact ammo boxes

Yeah, looks like American ammo boxes. It's not complete obviously.

More paint, fiddle the clutch and give it a decent run with the correct plug as it's not fantastic at 40 in 4th. It really bogs so...fix that at some point.

It looks more green than it is. It will have some black markings on there.

That looks awesome in those colours. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?

180 for the bike.
10 for the paint.
16 for the ammo tins.
20 for the electrical bits needed.

Used current holes in the rack to attach the boxes so only needed to drill the holes in the boxes and find the right size bolts. Ended up spacing it out with heating pipe cut to size but still have a slight clearance issue with the lids. Can sort in the morning anyway. Already carried 12kg of potatoes in a sack on the back across boxes and taken it home.

Superb little bike.

Nothing is finished nor masked. Anything that's been over sprayed will wipe off with a petrol rag, don't worry Smile

I parted with my CG yesterday, half of me wanted to keep it and buy new bits to make it shiny again, half of me was saying, it is bloody slow.

I'd have a small bike again if it was 2 stroke, if just for the experience and the smell.

Get me a MZ!

In order for you to have an MZ though, surely you will need a glorious new driveway for it to sit upon?

In order to have an MZ sit on my driveway I need to get rid of all the other shitty half baked bikes in my garage along with the shitty half baked spares that I have to go with them Shocked .

I aim to hit up the south of France on it. Attach a little white flag to it too Laughing

Considering I've spent so little on it, I'm pleased with it.

Sounds good, let me know when you plan on going if you dont mind a c90 or possibly a cd200 tagging along!

On another note I recon you should fit some semi trail tyres, would suit the look of the bike and make for some entertaining green laning!

Problem encountered...

Its managed to bend its own rear brake bar.. the weird bar that goes back to operate the drum.

It bent it 180 degrees and twisted the actual part on the hub, how, fuck knows. Laughing

Can straighten 1 part but need new brake cable/bar whatever the thing is called. Might be able to make one.

Is it set up correctly?

It should pull not push on the brake.

The part you are referring to may be the torque arm?

As lihp said, check it is set up correctly. When the arm is disconnected from the cable it is possible to twist it the whole way round so the rod would be pushing it rather than pulling as it should (I think).

Can't see why a pulling action would bend the rod so the above seems possible.

EDIT:
Also, if you wanted to do a "proper job": https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GP100-1983-REAR-BRAKE-HUB-USABLE-SHOES-/321510516086?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item4adb852576

But... dem monies Sad
