Evening all!

So i thought i would update my bike situation.

A few weeks ago i bought a suzuki gp100, it needed attention, the engine turned over but it didnt run, structurally sound too. So this is what she looked like when i picked her up:

I have never touched a bike before so i thought a minor restoration would be the best way to introduce myself to one. So everything was stripped off the bike, took me about 3 days to strip it all.

Some dodgy wiring:

Some issues with rusted bolts slowed me down a tad.

And completely naked!

So, got to work stripping all the metalwork, off came the paint and a lot of surface rust. For the more stubborn rust a generous lick of Deox Gel helped massively.

Gel working:

And clear:

Now a lick of paint:

So with the same process having been done to the rest of the bike it was now time to reassemble:

And monty the mini watched every step.

So now the cosmetic parts have been painted and i spent ages basically rebuilding the wiring loom so now im happy with it. Last bits are the rear lights and the seat ( i need to find suitable material to recover it with)

So from when i started stripping it, i have so far spent 9 full days on it. I am now concentrating on getting it to start, but so far, no joy. I think it is a fuel issue, as there is a spark, compression. It is running on a Nippon Denso ignition, so timing is fine. Unusual thing is, the plug seems wet when i take it out. The carb float bowl is filling with fuel and ive cleaned it all inside and out. Im scratching my head, but maybe one of you fine folks know a bit more then me.

Cheers all.

Phil
