Hi everyone,

As the subject says, I'm new here, im 28 from Chesterfield, and having passed my bike test in January i bought a Thundercat at the beginning of February.

Here she is on the day i bought her, needed a lot of love but for £450 it was a bargain. There were a few things wrong but i'm fairly handy, so i set about fixing them. The speedo didn't work so i got a new drive gear and a new cable, and fitted those. The headlights on Thundercats are famously crap, so next up was a 6000k HID, although i'm thinking of swapping this out for a 5000k bulb as its a touch too blue.

Stock light just peeking through:

I gave it a good clean in between all this, obviously. I had to wait for a bit more money coming in before i fitted heated grips, but while i was waiting i bought some leds off t'ebay and fitted them in the clocks. The Speedo is now white, and the rev counter and temp guage are aqua blue. Also fitted an led in the neutral indicator, and that now lights up a shade of light blue. I'll stick some photos up when i take some. I also removed these yellow decals from the back:

To make it look more like this:

After heated grips came a front mudguard:

Which i think changes the look of the bike totally, and finally (some of you may have noticed this in earlier photos) i had quite a low level of tread on the front tyre (officer) so this got changed, and now i am left with this, taken today:

Aaaand now for the bad bits....

There is damage to the fairing, here:

Which i will be getting repaired. there are scuffs here and there. The previous owner did not seem to care about the bike, and everything was done as cheaply as possible. It also has not got second gear, common problem on these, and expensive to fix, but at some point it will be getting done. I would say that in total i probably haven't quite got £700 in this bike yet, and im pretty pleased with how it is!

Thanks for looking at my thread guys, i'm going to go and explore the forum now!

Welcome to the forum mate.

Nice Thundercat, you're doing well with it, and that was a good price you landed it for too!

look forward to seeing anything else you might add to the bike bud.

Ridiculously big? I know, they're also in fake carbon fibre. They were nothing to do with me, they're also on the list!
