Suspensions question

This isn't a typical 'what springs will make me go faster' or 'how many clicks out until I can go like rossi' question.

I'm looking for a reliable source of information on suspension set ups. As in calculations and geometry, technical stuff. I want to have a tinker with my bike but also have a (frankenstein) project bike that will need a bit of thought put into it. If I ever finish it that is. But also it will be interesting reading. Probably.

Looking round the Internet does reveal some stuff but mostly seems specific to certain bikes and not always detailed except in the one particular area they are talking about.

Any decent books or anything that are worth buying or that people have used and actually recommend would be helpful. Cheers
