If you're worried about it getting chipped and scratched, I'd probably make a better job of what you've done so far and satin black all the plastics (you can buy textured aerosols, to make it look factory) and leave it at that.
Right now, it looks like one of those crossover cars that manufacturers like to make, where they add fat wheels and plastic arches and try to kid everyone that it's some kind of go anywhere SUV.
Anyway, unless you know someone in the trade, a decent wrap will cost you a grand and you're still left with shitty paint underneath, when it all starts peeling off. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

That's an interesting transit bodykit!
I think with this and the arch's I agree with everyone saying that this all needs to be one colour and a nice smooth paintjob to show off all the other hard work you've done on the thing. I thing std blue or the Ford racing blue would be a nice look too.
I would have said chrome side bars or twin side pipes would be cooler than the side skirts, but as they match the front and rear kit, then I suppose they are cool too.
There's lots of room in the front bumper mouth for a massive huge FMIC now too! |

Massive FMIC will be getting ordered once I've sorted the paint etc. I know I will be impatient otherwise and fit one, which will lead on to it getting damaged from being removed and re-fitted constantly.
The kit is a modified Transit SportVan kit, standard on the Mk7:

Some trimming of my arches is needed to get the kit to sit flush, and I will need to make some brackets up for the skirts.
Once painted, I think it'll look pretty good though, and being standard Ford styling, should keep quite subtle (Disregarding the wheels of course ) ____________________ - Honda XL125S - CBR400 NC29 - VFR400 NC30 - CBR400 NC29 - TL1000R - TeeZeR Pit! - Bandit 12 - YZF450 - LuckyMX125 Pit! - Demon X XLR 140 Pit!

A sporty looking transit is cool.

I like them because people hate them.
Going to get 5mm lathed off the front hubs and mating faces of the wheel to bring them in by 10mm. Should sit under the arches then. ____________________ - Honda XL125S - CBR400 NC29 - VFR400 NC30 - CBR400 NC29 - TL1000R - TeeZeR Pit! - Bandit 12 - YZF450 - LuckyMX125 Pit! - Demon X XLR 140 Pit!

It'll look sweet when done, no matter how much you'd have to drink to truly adore the rims!
Good shout on delaying fitting the huge FMIC too, as when the end tanks get scratched and are on full display they can look a bit annoying/shit. My car is like this now, and the nice Forge cooler sticking out of the bumper has some right old scratches all over it now.
If it's not going to sit 100% flush with the bumper surface I really would consider some kind of large open weave mesh grille to protect it slightly from stone chips etc, yet still show off the serious engine pipework and obvious minerals!
Are you going blue on all your Samco's? |
