Anybody know if these are any good?https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-KMX125-KIPS-BOTTLE-ADAPTER-PLATE-SCREWS-IMPROVED-LOW-MID-RANGE-POWER-/261858873469?ul_ref=http%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F0%2Fe11010.m1951.l3160%2F7%3Feuid%3D6c602faaaf9143f4be4e395d36ee5d9f%26loc%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%252Fws%252FeBayISAPI.dll%253FViewItem%2526item%253D261858873469%26exe%3D12294%26ext%3D30597%26sojTags%3Dexe%3Dexe%2Cext%3Dext%26srcrot%3De11010.m1951.l3160%26rvr_id%3D0

BDK racing sell them for the 125's and 200cc. I can't remember if it was a 125 or 200 they dyno'd, but there was something like an extra 0.75bhp gain somewhere in the midrange rpm.

Possibly best to PM Dangerous Dave, as he know's more about them and I'm sure he showed me the graph I was on about.

I'm planning on dynoing my 125 soon, and if any mods I make reduce the midrange power severely, I might look into trying the 200's resonator chamber while there to see if more volume increases or decreases performance anywhere. I expect that the bigger 200's chamber will show more of an effect one way or the other than a small spacer plate would?

Yeh, i cant see it making much of a difference, but for less than 40 quid any gain might be worth it.

If you decide to buy one don't expect to much, I was a little disappointed.

I would say you would notice more of a difference cleaning the carb and getting your jetting dialled in just right.

The theory behind the KIPS mod is that an the small increase in exhaust volume allows the expansion chamber to work a bit better in the mid-range. It is supposed to be especially effective with an aftermarket pipe, Big One Gianelli etc.

Anyway, here's the dyno chart from showing the difference.

Fuel costs are a re fair point, as your at 40-45mpg at best! and MCN got that down to 32mpg in speed testing, so your doing at best 1/2 the mpg of a four stroke 125.

Please do tell me you got a decent little 4stroke trailie though and not a generic thing, covered in flashy graphics, cheap wavy discs and full of eastern promise!

Something like an Honda XLR or XL125R or early DR/XT125's are my my kind of bike!

Its a good point, they are not great on fuel, not the most economical way of getting from A-B when fuel now is well over £5/gallon. Add a bottle of semi-synth injector 2-stroke oil every 2-3 tankfuls and the running cost adds up.

Surprised the insurance is more than a 4t ? Guess they have not gotten over their reputation for being the most stolen bike in the UK.
