"A real motorcyclist"

Anyone who says this line needs to be taken into the back and shot.
Stereotypes exist for a reason, and the biker one is that due to Harley fags and nothing more.

I'm not adventurous, I just ride a bike because I choose to and it's cheap and fun.

God this thread reeks of ghey, explains the karma rating Rolling Eyes

It's not a fraternity it's mutual respect

I respect you for riding in this shitty weather on these shitty roads.

How is it mutual "respect" when at the same time you deride Harley riders as fags?

LONG before the posey Harley types arrived on the scene, Harley riders really *were* riding them because they were cheap and fun transport.

Most of it is just a bit of banter though, ribbing and piss take. I doubt many are actually feeling superiour about their bike, or looking down and judging others over theirs. If they are, fuck 'em!

Sometime last month I heard one guy say to another "you know Dave, he's still got an iPhone4.....yeah, I know, not even the S model".

Not even the S model. Shoot Dave now, he clearly does not deserve to live.

Anyway, pushing away from the ultimate gheyness of the "what's a real biker" argument, and reverting back to the OP... I have to admit I don't normally look at a biker and think "I bet he rides a Kawasaki Ninja". I'm more likely to wonder what sort of bike he rides, rather than pinpoint him as a particular type.

Even those with "a certain look about them that might attract me", I tend to expect that they will ride a highly modified bike, but not necessarily a specific brand.

Stereotypes were probably created by people who had no own experience in the matter. People just see things and judge. It's all bollocks.

Stereotypes aren't created, they're born and evolved

People see things and judge, it's human nature
