Right well, progress to some extent.

I spent the majority of the weekend painting which I will get to.

Ended up paying to get the exhaust polished, because I couldn't be bothered and run out of time. Guy did the best he could with what was there:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150314_133203.jpg

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150314_133210.jpg

Fitted. (Can also see the shiny radiator fitted in this picture too)

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150314_154547.jpg

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150314_154608.jpg

More pics of the radiators. All pipes connected, done up and filled with coolant:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150314_154616.jpg

Chain on:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150315_180402.jpg

Tank on as well. I noticed the battery wasn't charging so did some diagnostics. Turned out the regulator was goosed. Ordered a new fancy mosfet one in a kit.

Last few bits I had powdercoated:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150403_134431.jpg

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150403_134449.jpg

Starting to connect all the stuff at the back up (although it's changed since this picture now):

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150403_140809.jpg

Test fit of the rear fairing and seat hump to see what it was going to all look like:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150403_144604.jpg

Then..... painting.

Bare in mind I have 2 kits for this bike. I've got all the bits to make this a TLR. To get it on the road I decided to go with the under seat exhaust and tackle the fairings at a later date (although looking at the fairings I do have I'd have probably been okay just putting it all on).

So went for something outrageous:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150406_120356.jpg

Lacquered:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150406_121433.jpg

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150406_142417.jpg

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150406_142439.jpg

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150406_142448.jpg

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Mobile%20Uploads/20150406_142431.jpg

Basically I've got one run and some orange peel to sand out the tank but it came out pretty well. That was with a rattle can.

I'll stick it all on see what I think while I get the full fairing kit prepared.

I'll get it on the road, see what I think of the bike then prepare the full fairing fit for next summer.

I know it's not quite what you all hoped for at the moment but I just want to ride the thing and this was the easiest way of getting on it for the moment!

Rear brake is all back together and bled. Rear sets are on.

Bought some new footpegs but can't seem to get them to fit right so might have to use the shitty old ones.

Tomorrow going to tackle the front brakes which I bought new pads for. Also going to get the rear fairing on and the rear end sorted In terms of wiring and stuff so all it will need is the seat and tank fitting.

Then I'll route the clutch line and fit and bleed that and fit the new levers I have.

Then sort the handlebars and stuff.

Then sort the front end and decide if I'm going to fit lights etc.

Then I've got to test the fuel pump is working properly and see if when it primes the return line spews out fuel because I cannot get it to run right so I think the fuel pump is naff/ blocked or something.

Then see where we are!

Hoping to have it finished this weekend.

New fuel pump is fitted. Wasted about an hour trying to work out why it wouldn't prime and then looked at a wiring diagram and realized it was because I didn't have the side stand down Laughing.

Then flattened the battery trying to start it to then find out the fuel pump hadn't picked up any fuel! Then fired it up and it still wasn't running right. Played around with stuff for a while, tried a new coil as I replaced the faulty one and thought it might be that. Still nothing. Turned out the spark plug in the rear cylinder was faulty. Now runs, starts and idles like it should Very Happy.

Jobs left to do are:

One heel plate to fit.
Rivet the chain properly
Bolt on the front mudguard.
Sort a rear hugger
Sort battery box.
rebuild and fit front brakes.
Sort the wiring at the front and hide it with something, or fit a light.

Ideally I'd like to fit some track fairing for a laugh as it would finish it off but I can't find any for a price that I like.

Anyway it's pretty much there.

Can't wait to ride it now, just starting it up I had a massive grin on my face Very Happy.

Well done to paddy!

Well spotted, I didn't realise until I bolted it all up after I'd got the rear subframe powder coated but it's actually a bit twisted :/.

If I'd known I'd have bought a new one to get done.

So annoying but its not that bad to make the bike Un rideable.

Also I didn't bolt the tank at the front and it sits just slightly off so that's why.

I'll get a new subframe and get that done to bolt up I'm the future.

Got a lot to update on this, but stuck it for an MOT on Saturday and ti went through now problems. Rode it about 100 miles in the last couple of days. Few problems to iron out but runs great and is an incredible bike. Engine is fantastic, smooth and pulls hard. Overall I'm really happy.

Photo of finished article:

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/IMAG0272.jpg

Future plans will be to re do a couple of bits and get some track fairing I think. Maybe loose the exhaust in replacement for a full system. But of tuning and a pwercommander etc. Just want to ride it for now!

Fantastic work but out tastes appear to drastically differ.

At least we agree the exhausts need sorting!

Thought I'd just dig this up and give some more info.

Overall it's such a fantastic bike to ride. The riding position is overly aggressive, the throttle wants to kill you always.... it's more of a switch than anything else. Suspension was rock hard to begin with. Had no movement at all. Set both the front a rear up now and it feels much better and handles well. It sounds awsome and is silly loud. Makes pops and burbles on the overrun like they are going out of fashion and lifts the front very easily.

All in all for a laugh it's a rather good bit of kit.

I'm incredibly impressed with the engine as well by the way. The torque in the low revs is like nothing I've ever experienced yet it'll still rev out in any gear. I am constantly short shifting on the road to use that agressive mid range and it's fantastic. Cruising along in 4th or 5th and wanting to overtake a car is now effortless and requires nothing other than a small application of throttle and lots of thunder from behind me.

Oh and when following it looks really cool.

I am starting to regret not having some working lights on it though so that will be attended to in the future. And it likes to loose stuff Laughing. so far I've lost the seat hump and the rear numberplate. Plus came back from a ride to find the rear hugger hanging off - all small little details Laughing.

I did get a chance eventually to sand and polish the tank as I wanted and the paint has come up well. I think there was some purple dust that's run with the lacquer so I obviously didn't do a good enough job of getting rid of that so the finish isn't as good as you'd hope. But all in all for the moment it needs nothing other than some more abuse.

I want to do a trackday soon before I go back to university in September and become a poor student again so hopefully I will post up some pictures of that when I do it and I'll get a good chance to open the bike up properly.

The photos of the tank now:

Not the tank but showing the peel and poor finishh on the bodywork:
