Some people have said its like a war zone on a Saturday night, others have said its really nice.

Being a stag do, i think we are getting dressed up (day time) playing pub golf or some crap like that

I went while the Commonwealth Games was on I liked it. It boisterous but I didn't feel unsafe and I walked through the City Center about 10/11pm on a Saturday in this.

It depends where your bench mark is though. I'll never forgot the Country Bumpkin Kid in my Halls at uni saying 'Portsmouth's well rough, I saw a fight last night' I spent my teenage years going out in Romford, so a night isn't complete until you have seen a handful of fights

Where is it you're going OP? If you're going to the city centre you'll be fine. If you're going to Bridgeton cross, I know some guys who can get you a Kevlar vest and a machete.

I've personally never had any issue anywhere I've been though, I wouldn't worry about it. Oh, and I can get you VIP passes to Diamond Dolls if you want a few...

You can't go wrong........unless you like papism or arguing about football. Hootenanny's is alright . there's plenty of live music in pubs far more than Manchester . The eurohostel bar is good .

Just remember.....unlike English cities , you will be hunted down and fined for behaving like an english pigdog . So pissing in the street, drinking on the street ,and throwing fag buts on the floor et c.....will cost you........,throwing up is OK though , probably a local custom.

Deep fried mars bars though .......hard to find.
