Update!

After failing its MOT back in May, the RXS sat in the garage for a while as I had no time to sort it due to wedding planning and house buying.

That excitement was all done and dusted at the end of June, and I managed to get the little Yamaha into my father in law's van to be driven over to our new house, so I could get the necessary work done to it.

It failed on:

Arrow Leaking offside shock
Arrow Bent brake lever, too close to footpeg
Arrow Front brake not working (drum brakes, but still needed spacers to brace the adjuster and cable)
Arrow Chain slack (woops)

So...... into the van it went!

Through the house...

.... and into the garden for a few weeks under cover.

With a big help from my dear friend Carvel, we fixed all its little problems and I got a last minute MOT test done at this lovely looking place.

Passed with no advisories! A nice bike friendly tester, just down the road from me Cool

And a little bit of a cleanup, during on/off rain.

As above. I used to sit at 55mph on the way to work on the A12 easily when I lived in NE London. It would probably handle all the A roads in my new area just as well, I assume - and all for about a third of the petrol cost. To get to 70 is almost redlining in every gear and tucking right in.

Will bring it along to Ace Cafe some time soon again I am sure.

An excellent little fun 125 bother'er these RXS's!

I would think that with the cast allot wheels, forks and disc brake from the more modern YBR, it would be even more fun to hustle around too!

Yeah, I had about 73-75 out of mine too, when I had it. I really liked mine and will probably get another one day.

I should say 70mph was at the redline, I could have gone into it but decided against it Laughing I'm sure 75 is doable.

I had an indicated 75 on the clock on the weekend, tucked down, head on tank and legs straight out behind me Laughing

Didn't GPS it though unfortunately.

Had a bit of fun on the weekend on it, out and about.

Also got to the Ace Cafe (20 mins from my house) for vintage Jap bike day, which was nice. A lot of bikes from the same type of mould of the era.

Apparently according to someone who was probably full of shit, you can do 100mph if you fit a YZ100 top end, a decent expansion chamber and an RD125 carb. Thumbs Up

I really wouldn't feel safe on an RXS at that speed Laughing

Forgot to say, I sold this RXS a few weeks ago now before the Winter set in, for a pricely sum of £700. I was happy with that!

A middle aged guy came for it and loaded it up on the back of his truck. He used to have one a number of years ago and wanted another in good condition.

It will be missed, but I needed to downsize my vehicles (just 1 bike and 1 car now!) as wife may want a car soon too.

My last few pics of it:

You'll regret it! Kicking myself even now after selling mine for £400.

The KH should make up for it (don't plan on letting go of that!) but it's no RXS
