I've owned this bike before. I bought it in 2011, rode it through the French Alps etc before it shat out its gearbox. I replaced the gearbox with a Z1000 one, powdercoated the wheels and did a load of other shit to it before selling it to a friend.
Unfortunately he didn't take as good care of it, as well as falling off of it, it got stolen. Fortunately it wasn't started - just dumped in a ditch.
It's got a Chinese fairing kit on it, but I have the originals. All panels are ok, bar the RHS, which is scuffed. The Chinese set on it at present (upper and side panels) are ok, but the upper is cracked. The rear panels I have new in a box!
Here it is on the trailer.

Looks tidy, but it isn't really.

And some crash damage to the clutch casing:

Bent fairing stay, no ignition and badgered top yoke:

And a load of shit under the fairings.

That's as far as I've got, but I'll update when there's more progress.
My plan is to firstly check it still runs, and then I have a long list of jobs to do to it. (Valve clearances, refurb brakes, C&S, tyres, fork seals...) ____________________ You ain't a has been if you never was |

That looks so sad after you'd taken the front off. Sure you'll redeem it though! |

I'll upload some pics later, but it runs.
Oil and filter changed, chain scrubbed and lubed, and new clutch cable in. Rode it up the road with a temporary fuel tank, the forks are twisted in the yokes, but it feels plenty powerful compared to my Fazer. ____________________ You ain't a has been if you never was |
